NORRIDGE, Ill. — A home in Norridge became the center of a tragedy Monday evening when a 41-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were found dead, leaving family and friends grieving, according to the Norridge Police Department.
Officers were called to a residence in the 4100 block of Ozanam Avenue at about 6:43 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, for a well-being check. They found a man and a woman dead inside. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as Ashley E. Rivera, 41, of Norridge. The man hasn't been officially named, though blog reports identify him as Dean Rivera and say he was her husband.
Police said that, based on preliminary investigative findings, authorities believe the man was responsible for the woman's death before taking his own life. Police said it appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community. The cause of death and what led to it haven't been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
Behind this news are lives that mattered, and family and friends now facing an unimaginable loss. May everyone grieving Ashley find strength, comfort and support in the days ahead.
