DULUTH, Ga. — Someone knows who she is. More than three years after a woman's remains were found on private property in Duluth, Georgia, police still haven't been able to put a name to her, and her family may still be waiting for answers.
The Duluth Police Department said the woman's remains were found on June 2, 2023, after a man cleaning out his father's property in the 4300 block of Abbotts Bridge Road reported finding possible human remains. Police believe she was a Black woman between 25 and 35 years old, between 5 feet 1 inch and 5 feet 5 inches tall. She had braided hair extensions, several body piercings and a tattoo on her upper back or shoulder.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation created a sketch of what she may have looked like. The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office hasn't determined the manner or date of her death, and no cause of death has been released.
Police are still asking anyone who recognizes the description or the sketch to come forward. Even a small detail, like a hairstyle, a piercing or a tattoo, could help investigators. Before she was an unidentified person in an investigation, she was someone's daughter, sister, friend or loved one. Someone may still be hoping to find out what happened to her.
