At least 14 people have been killed after a Russian drone struck a busy railway station in Dnipro, Ukraine, on Thursday, October 29, according to Ukrainian officials.
The attack hit a railway platform where a commuter train and a passenger train were stationed. Regional governor Oleksandr Ganzha confirmed that 14 people had died, while another 14 were injured. Six of the injured were reportedly in serious condition.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the incident, describing it as a horrific attack on civilians and calling on international allies to maintain pressure on Moscow.
Images released by emergency services showed rescue workers attending to victims and damaged passenger trains at the station.
The strike occurred while Ukraine and Russia were attempting to maintain a limited ceasefire around Oleshky, a Russian-occupied city facing severe shortages of food, water and medicine.
Ukrainian authorities also reported other attacks across the country, including strikes that killed civilians in Chernihiv and Kremenchuk.
The latest incident has renewed concerns about civilian safety and the possibility of further escalation as diplomatic efforts to end the war continue.
