Martin Hernandez, 40, died Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle collision in Barren County, Kentucky.
According to Kentucky State Police, the crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on Scottsville Road, also known as U.S. 31-E, near Old Scottsville Loop Third Road.
Police said an 18-year-old driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north when he lost control and crossed the centerline. The truck then collided with Hernandez’s red 2006 Pontiac G6.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 21-year-old passenger in Hernandez’s vehicle was airlifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment. The Silverado driver was also transported to a local hospital with injuries.
The roadway was closed for several hours while investigators examined the crash scene. Kentucky State Police said the investigation remains ongoing and is being led by Trooper Grant Robertson.
