The jury has begun deliberating in the federal murder-for-hire trial involving rapper Lil Durk, OTF Dede and Browneyez.
Before deliberations, the judge explained that prosecutors must establish that each defendant knowingly aided in or committed the alleged crimes. Simply being present at a location or around other people involved in a conspiracy does not, by itself, establish guilt.
The judge also instructed jurors that the guilty pleas entered by OTF Jam, OTF Vonnie and Flacka cannot be treated as evidence that Lil Durk, OTF Dede or Browneyez are guilty. Those three defendants have pleaded not guilty.
The jury is considering five counts:
1. Conspiracy to commit stalking
2. Stalking Quando Rondo using a dangerous weapon
3. Stalking Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson resulting in death
4. Conspiracy to use interstate commerce facilities in a murder-for-hire resulting in Pab’s death
5. Using interstate commerce facilities in a murder-for-hire resulting in Pab’s death
The case now rests with the jury as they weigh the evidence and determine whether prosecutors have proved the charges against each defendant beyond a reasonable doubt.
