TOLEDO, Ohio — A heartbreaking tragedy has left families grieving in Toledo, Ohio, after two women lost their lives in a devastating collision on Thursday evening, October 29, 2026.
The victims were identified as Bria E. Boone, 32, and Laura J. Anaple, 64, both residents of Toledo, following the fatal crash near the intersection of North Holland Sylvania Road and Nebraska Avenue.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident happened at approximately 5:54 p.m. after a 2018 Ford Escape driven by Boone became involved in a pursuit with deputies from the Lucas County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities reported that Boone failed to stop when deputies attempted to pull her over. The pursuit continued along Interstate 475 before she exited onto Airport Highway and proceeded toward North Holland Sylvania Road.
As the vehicle approached the intersection, Boone reportedly lost control, crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a 2016 Honda CR-V driven by Anaple.
The impact resulted in devastating consequences. Boone was pronounced dead at the scene, while Anaple was transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.
A juvenile passenger who was inside Boone's vehicle also sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to ProMedica Toledo Hospital for treatment.
