IN LOVING MEMORY: Paul Alexander Kirkland, 35, Dies in Tragic Dirt Bike Crash Near Prince Train Station.

PRINCE, W.Va. — What began as an ordinary Wednesday night ride ended in heartbreak for a 35-year-old Texas man, whose death in a dirt bike crash in Fayette County went undiscovered until the next morning, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were notified Thursday morning, Oct. 29, of a missing person report filed in neighboring Raleigh County for Paul Alexander Kirkland of Caddo Mills, Texas. Around 8 a.m., a CSX employee walking along the railroad tracks found him dead near the Prince Train Station.
Investigators said Kirkland was riding north on Route 41 on Wednesday night when he lost control coming out of a curve near the railroad tracks. The dirt bike struck a tree, and he was thrown, suffering fatal head and neck injuries. He wasn't wearing a helmet, investigators said. The crash wasn't discovered overnight because he and the bike's debris were well off the roadway. The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff's office extended condolences to his family.
Behind this discovery is a life that mattered and loved ones now facing an unimaginable loss. May those grieving find strength and comfort in the days ahead.
