Toni Thompson, a 68-year-old woman from Cable, Wisconsin, is being remembered by her family and loved ones following her death after a serious vehicle crash.
According to a family fundraiser, Toni and her two granddaughters were traveling home on the evening of August 21 after spending the day at the Dodge County Fair when their vehicle collided with a semi milk tanker truck. The two girls suffered minor injuries and were released from the hospital that night.
Toni suffered critical injuries in the crash and was airlifted to UW Health University Hospital in Madison. She underwent an eight-hour surgery and remained in intensive care as she fought to recover.
Despite the efforts of medical teams and her family, Toni died on the morning of August 30 with her loved ones by her side.
Her family remembered her as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had been married to her husband, Steve, for 46 years and was a grandmother to two granddaughters. She was described by her family as a strong, compassionate and family-oriented woman who placed faith and family at the center of her life.
Toni's passing has left her family and community mourning a woman whose life was deeply cherished by those around her.
She will be remembered for the love she gave her family, the kindness she showed others and the lasting impact she had on the people who knew her.
