WARREN COUNTY, Ohio โ€” A 69-year-old Xenia man died early Thursday after a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 42, leaving his family, friends and community grieving, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers from the Lebanon Post were notified around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, of a serious injury crash on U.S. 42, south of Middletown Road in Wayne Township. The patrol said Michael McClellan was driving a 2021 Ford EcoSport south when it went off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.
McClellan was taken to Atrium Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. All lanes of U.S. 42 were closed for more than two hours. The Warren County Sheriff's Office, Clearcreek Township Police, Waynesville Police, Wayne Township Fire and EMS and Case Towing helped at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
At 69, McClellan's journey ended far sooner than anyone expected, leaving a space that can never truly be filled. The loss of a life is never just a headline. It is a reminder of how precious every sunrise is and how uncertain tomorrow can be. Though details of his personal life haven't been publicly shared, his life deserves to be remembered with dignity, compassion and respect.
May his memory remain a lasting light in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and may his family and friends find comfort in the days ahead.
