VALLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. โ A 29-year-old Lock Haven-area man was killed Monday morning while helping another motorist on Interstate 80 in Montour County, according to the Montour County Coroner's Office.
The crash happened around 5:54 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, on eastbound I-80 between mile markers 224 and 225 in Valley Township. The coroner said a pickup truck had been struck by a tractor-trailer that failed to stop, pushing the pickup partially off the road.
Logan Rickert stopped to help the pickup's driver. As he got out of his own pickup, a second tractor-trailer left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pennsylvania State Police at Milton and the coroner's office are investigating. An autopsy is pending.
