CARTER COUNTY, Okla. — A 35-year-old Ringling man died Saturday evening in a UTV crash near Wilson, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, on Faith Hill Road. Troopers said a Can-Am UTV driven east by 43-year-old Terry Josey of Healdton left the road to the left and struck a tree. The UTV rolled multiple times, and OHP said it was traveling at a high speed.
The passenger, Joseph Wheeler of Ringling, was ejected and killed at the scene. Josey was flown to a hospital in Oklahoma City in critical condition. Troopers said seatbelts were not in use.
Wilson police asked OHP to lead the investigation. Troopers have not said what caused the UTV to leave the road, and the investigation is ongoing.
