🚨 Huawei has launched its latest tri-fold smartphone, the Mate XT2, as competition in the premium foldable-phone market intensifies.
The new device features a tri-fold design, upgraded folding mechanics, improved water resistance and a privacy-focused display. Huawei says the phone is powered by its new Kirin 9050 Pro chip, which the company claims delivers a significant performance improvement over its previous generation.
The Mate XT2 is priced between 19,999 yuan and 24,999 yuan, roughly $2,980 to $3,725, with sales scheduled to begin on September 12.
The launch comes as Huawei faces growing competition from other major smartphone manufacturers. Xiaomi is preparing its own foldable offering, while Apple is also expected to enter the foldable-phone market.
Huawei remains a major player in China’s foldable smartphone market, where it holds a reported 68% share. The company is also continuing to develop its own chips and technology despite ongoing U.S. restrictions.
The launch highlights the intensifying global race to develop thinner, more powerful and more versatile smartphones as manufacturers compete for dominance in the next generation of mobile devices.
