🚨 Tensions in the Middle East have escalated after Houthi attacks struck four cities in southern Saudi Arabia, leaving 73 people injured.
Saudi authorities said attacks targeted areas including Abha, Jazan, Najran and Khamis Mushait. Several civilian and energy facilities were affected, with fires reported at an oil facility in Jazan.
The Iran-backed Houthi movement claimed responsibility for the attacks, saying they were carried out in response to Saudi military actions in Yemen. Saudi Arabia has condemned the attacks and said it would respond.
The escalation comes as the wider conflict involving Iran, the United States and regional forces continues to create uncertainty across the Middle East.
The renewed violence has also affected global energy markets. Oil prices moved sharply higher as investors worried about potential disruptions to regional energy supplies and shipping routes. (Reuters)
The situation remains closely watched because further escalation could have consequences well beyond the region, particularly for global energy prices and international trade.
