WOOSTER, Ohio โ€” Some losses are simply too painful for words, and the heartbreaking passing of 11-year-old Emmet Sauers has left his family, school and community grieving.

Just before midnight on Friday, September 4, an Ohio State Highway Patrol investigation found that a white 2007 Ford F-250 was traveling northwest on State Route 302, also known as Madison Avenue, when it left the roadway and crashed into a residential home.

The truck was driven by 18-year-old Karas M. Wedge of Seville, who suffered minor injuries and was taken to Wooster Community Hospital. Emmet was inside the home when the crash occurred and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emmet was a fifth-grade student at Triway School. School officials described his death as a profound loss for the entire school community and said counselors would be available to support students and staff.

His obituary remembers Emmet as a boy with a bright and memorable personality. He loved music, especially The Beatles, and enjoyed his pet lizard, records, video games, vintage electronics and many other interests that made him uniquely himself.

Those who knew Emmet are now left holding onto the memories of a young boy whose life was far too short. His family, classmates, teachers and friends will carry his memory forward as they try to make sense of a devastating loss.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

May Emmet Sauers rest in peace, and may his family, friends, classmates and everyone who knew him find strength and comfort during this heartbreaking time. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
