SUMRALL, Miss. — Some losses are impossible to put into words, and the passing of Chance Daniels has left the Sumrall High School community grieving.
Chance was a senior at Sumrall High School and a member of the Bobcats football team, where he played wide receiver and defensive back.
To his school community, Chance was more than a student or athlete. He was a teammate, classmate and friend whose presence made an impact on the people around him.
School officials remembered Chance as someone who was special and deeply loved, saying he made an impact on everyone around him and would be deeply missed.
His teammates and classmates are now facing the painful loss of someone who was part of their everyday lives. The football field, school hallways and familiar moments shared with Chance will carry memories of a young man whose life touched many people.
The school has asked the community to keep Chance's family, friends, classmates, teammates and teachers in their thoughts and prayers.
A cause of death has not been publicly released.
As the Sumrall community mourns, those who knew Chance will continue to remember the laughter, friendship and moments that made him special.
