BBNaija: Aikou and Flora Released From Gambit Roles, Now Eligible for ₦160m Prize

Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemates Aikou and Flora have officially exited their special “Gambit” roles and have been reinstated as full housemates in the ongoing reality show. The development means the pair are now eligible to compete for the ₦160 million grand prize, after previously being excluded from the prize as part of the conditions attached to their Gambit status. Aikou and Flora became the first Gambits of the season after viewers selected them for the special roles. As Gambits, they were guaranteed places in the house until the grand finale but could not win the ₦160 million prize. The situation changed following the introduction of “Operation Release the Gambit” during Sunday’s live show. Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu gave viewers the opportunity to decide whether one or both Gambits should be released and returned to the main competition. Following the public vote, both Aikou and Flora were released from their Gambit status. Big Brother subsequently confirmed that they would now be treated like the other housemates. The change comes with an important condition: unlike when they were Gambits, Aikou and Flora can now be nominated for eviction. If either housemate is nominated, their fate will be determined by the voting public. Flora had originally secured the female Gambit position with 29.38 per cent of the vote, while Aikou won the male Gambit position with 9.10 per cent. Their return to the main competition adds another layer of uncertainty to the BBNaija house, as both housemates must now compete on the same terms as the other contestants while also trying to remain in the race for the ₦160 million prize. The development also brings an end to their time as Big Brother’s special agents, with the two now focused on surviving nominations and competing for the ultimate prize.
