Shruti Amin, 24, Dies in Round Rock Crash After Red-Light Collision

Shruti Amin, 24, died following a two-vehicle crash in Round Rock, Texas, early Sunday morning.

The collision happened at approximately 6 a.m. on October 4 at the intersection of South Kenney Fort Boulevard and Gattis School Road. Round Rock police officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a serious crash involving two vehicles.

According to police, 28-year-old Christopher Lundquist was driving southbound on South Kenney Fort Boulevard when he ran a red light. His vehicle then struck a car traveling eastbound on Gattis School Road.

Amin was driving the eastbound vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the crash scene by responding authorities. Police have not reported any other fatalities connected to the collision.

Lundquist was also injured in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. After receiving medical care, he was booked into the Williamson County Jail.

Authorities later charged Lundquist with intoxication manslaughter in connection with Amin’s death. Online jail records listed his bond at $100,000.

The preliminary investigation identified the red-light violation as a key factor in the collision. Police are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the events leading up to the impact.

The case has drawn attention in Round Rock because of the age of Amin, who was only 24. Her death has left family, friends and those who knew her facing the sudden loss of a young woman whose life ended during an early-morning drive.

Police have not released extensive additional information about Amin’s personal life or the circumstances surrounding her activities before the crash. Investigators are expected to continue examining evidence from the scene as the case moves forward.

Lundquist’s intoxication manslaughter charge remains an allegation, and the criminal case will proceed through the court system.

The Round Rock Police Department continues to handle the investigation. Authorities have urged anyone with relevant information about the crash to contact police.

The fatal collision serves as another reminder of the serious consequences associated with impaired driving and traffic violations. For Amin’s family and friends, however, the focus now remains on remembering her life and mourning a loss that came without warning.

The investigation and legal proceedings remain ongoing.
