Sawyer Jordan Death Hoax Debunked: LSU Coach Remains Active With Tigers in 2026

Social media reports claiming LSU Tigers coach Sawyer Jordan has died at age 33 are false, according to the latest available information from LSU.
The death claim appears to have originated from a post attributed to the account @LSUCoachMac. The account identifies itself as a parody account and is not an official LSU Athletics source. Its post therefore does not provide credible evidence of Jordan’s death.
LSU’s official information continues to list Sawyer Jordan as a member of the Tigers’ 2026 coaching staff. He serves as the program’s Inside Wide Receivers coach.
Jordan joined LSU’s coaching staff in December 2025 ahead of the 2026 season. He previously spent two seasons at Ole Miss as an assistant tight ends coach.
His coaching career also includes positions at Clemson, Louisiana-Lafayette, South Florida and Coastal Carolina. At Clemson, Jordan worked as an offensive student assistant and was part of the 2016 national championship team.
Jordan graduated from Clemson University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, focusing on mathematics. LSU’s biography lists Conway, South Carolina, as his hometown and identifies his wife as Caitlin.
The continued listing of Jordan on LSU’s official coaching staff directly conflicts with the social media claim about his death. No reliable evidence in the supplied information confirms that he has died.
Death rumors involving public figures often spread rapidly through social media. An unofficial or parody post should not be treated as an obituary or official announcement without confirmation from the individual’s family, representatives, employer or reputable news organizations.
Based on the latest LSU information provided, Sawyer Jordan remains active as the Tigers’ Inside Wide Receivers coach for the 2026 football season.
The reported death should therefore be treated as a death hoax rather than a confirmed obituary.
