Preston El Guindy, 6, Dies After Being Accidentally Struck by Father’s Tesla Cybertruck Near Temecula

With hearts broken by an unimaginable tragedy, we remember 6-year-old Preston El Guindy, whose life ended after he was accidentally struck by a Tesla Cybertruck driven by his father near Temecula, California.

The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on September 19, 2026, outside the family's home on Brookhaven Court near Highway 79. California Highway Patrol investigators said Preston was struck as his father, 48-year-old Tarik El Guindy, was backing the Cybertruck out of the driveway.

Preston suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office coroner's records list his time of injury as 9:06 p.m. and his time of death as 9:41 p.m. on September 19.

CHP said the Tesla was not operating in Autopilot mode. Investigators also said the preliminary evidence pointed to an accident, with no indication of foul play reported. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities review available evidence, including vehicle video.

The family's fundraiser described Preston as a child who brought joy to the people around him and said he was playing outside in his neighborhood before the tragic incident. His parents and sister, Scarlett, are now mourning the loss of a young family member whose life ended far too soon.

Preston was only six years old — a little boy with years of childhood, family moments and dreams still ahead of him. His sudden death has left his family and those who knew him facing an unimaginable loss.

As the California Highway Patrol continues its investigation, Preston's loved ones are left to remember his life, his smile and the memories he shared with his family.
