Paul Meservey, 23, Dies After Pickup Crashes Into Two Homes in Ellsworth, Maine

Paul Meservey, 23, of Orrington, Maine, died after a pickup truck crashed into two residences in Ellsworth early Thursday morning.
The crash happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Bucksport Road and Surry Road. According to Ellsworth police, a 2018 GMC Sierra was traveling eastbound on Bucksport Road when the driver lost control. https://www.wabi.tv
The pickup left the roadway, crossed Main Street and struck a residence on the opposite side of the road. The vehicle then continued into a second home.
Meservey was riding as a passenger in the truck. Police said he suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead.
The driver was identified as 19-year-old Landon Rockwell of Dedham. He was ejected from the pickup during the collision and taken by ambulance to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth. Ellsworth police and firefighters responded to the scene along with emergency medical personnel. Bangor police also assisted during the response.
The Hancock County District Attorney's Office was notified following the fatal crash.
Authorities have not announced any charges in connection with the collision. Investigators are working to determine why the pickup left the roadway and what factors contributed to the crash.
