Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has suffered a spinal fracture following an accident in Bali, Indonesia.
The actress was in Bali for a work-cum-holiday trip when the incident occurred. She was taken to a local hospital and placed under medical observation while doctors assessed her condition.
Her publicist later confirmed that Bharuccha had suffered a fracture in her spine and would require surgery following further medical evaluation.
Her team arranged for her to return to Mumbai by air ambulance so she could receive further treatment and undergo the planned procedure.
Bharuccha was subsequently brought back to Mumbai. Videos published by Indian media showed the actress being transferred from an ambulance on a stretcher as family members, friends and medical personnel accompanied her to the hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the accident have not been publicly disclosed. Her representatives have not provided detailed information about where or how the incident occurred.
Her team has asked fans and members of the media to respect her privacy while she receives treatment and begins her recovery.
The actress is known for films including Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl and Chhorii. She had also recently joined the cast of an upcoming film starring Tiger Shroff and directed by Remo D’Souza.
