Nasarawa gov names eight commissioner nominees

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has appointed eight commissioner nominees to serve in his administration for the remaining months of his tenure.

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, announced the appointments while reading the governor’s letter during plenary in Lafia on Wednesday.

The Speaker listed the New Commissioners to include Muhammad Habeeb Nagogo from Wamba LGA, Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed from Lafia LGA, Hon. Mohammed Baba Shehu from Keffi LGA.

Other are “Hon. Mohammed Iyimoga Oyigye (Obi LGA), Adamu Rabecca Kpadji (Wamba LGA), Nawani Aboki (Doma LGA), Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim FCNA (Nasarawa LGA) and Ashefo Daniel Paul from Lafia LGA,” he said.

The Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to notify the nominees to submit 30 copies of their curriculum vitae and appear for screening on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the State House of Assembly.

It will be recalled that the Nasarawa State Government, on July 22, announced a minor cabinet reshuffle involving six commissioners as part of efforts to reposition the administration for the delivery of its remaining mandates before the end of its tenure.

The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Labaran Shuaibu Magaji (SAN), disclosed this while briefing journalists after a State Executive Council meeting held in Lafia, the state capital.

The SSG explained that the six commissioners were asked to step aside as part of the cabinet reshuffle.

He listed the affected ministries as Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, and Security and Other Sundry Matters.
