Jerry Crump Jr., 36, is being remembered following an overnight incident in Jackson, Mississippi, early Thursday morning, September 24, 2026.
According to the Jackson Police Department, officers with Precinct One responded to the 2800 block of Woodside Drive at approximately 12:47 a.m. after receiving a report of a deceased person.
When officers arrived, they found Crump at the location with multiple injuries. Authorities confirmed he died at the scene.
The Hinds County Coroner’s Office responded and took custody of Crump. Police also confirmed his next of kin had been notified.
Investigators found evidence at the scene as they worked to establish what happened. Authorities said individuals connected to the incident were reportedly traveling in an older-model, dark-colored Dodge Charger.
No suspects have been publicly identified, and police have not announced a motive. The investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering information and following leads.
