James-Michael Lee Hilliard, 34, of Sicily Island, Louisiana, lost his life Tuesday night in a motorcycle crash on Lower Woodville Road in Natchez, Mississippi.
The collision happened at approximately 7:50 p.m. near Briarwood Drive. According to Natchez police, Hilliard was traveling west on Lower Woodville Road when his motorcycle was struck by two vehicles. He was pronounced dead following the crash.
The crash led authorities to close part of Lower Woodville Road between Highland Boulevard and Briarwood while officers investigated the scene. Mississippi Highway Patrol accident reconstructionists were also called to assist with the investigation.
A woman who was driving one of the vehicles involved was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, according to Natchez police. Her identity has not been publicly released. The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
Hilliard's death was confirmed by his funeral home. Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday announced arrangements for James-Michael Lee Hilliard, with visitation scheduled for September 19 and funeral services scheduled for September 20.
For Hilliard's family, friends, and the Sicily Island community, his death marks a sudden and painful loss. The investigation continues as authorities work to establish the full sequence of events surrounding the crash.
The intoxication allegation against the driver remains an allegation unless established through the legal process.
