Iran has ‘no plans’ to negotiate with US, deputy foreign minister says

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi says Tehran has “no plans to negotiate with the US” but affirmed talks are proceeding “step by step” with Oman over reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

“We should not get America used to fighting whenever it wants and sitting at the negotiating table whenever it wants,” Gharibabadi said in remarks carried by state TV, adding that it was Washington “who sent messages pleading for an end to the conflict”.
