IN LOVING MEMORY OF KELLEY KNOCKEL: A Tragic Motorcycle Crash That Turned an October Night Into a Heartbreaking Goodbye.

With profound sadness, Kelley Knockel, 34, of Colesburg, Iowa, lost her life on October 10, 2026, in a tragic motorcycle crash on Garber Road, west of Kennedy Road, in Clayton County, Iowa. At approximately 9:17 p.m., three motorcycles were traveling eastbound when a white-tailed deer suddenly entered the roadway. The lead motorcycle, a red 2013 Harley-Davidson operated by Joshua Knockel, 42, struck the deer, leaving Kelley with fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Joshua suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

In a single heartbreaking moment, an ordinary journey became a tragedy that would forever change lives. What began as a ride along the open road ended with a family facing a loss no words can adequately describe. Kelley’s life was taken far too soon, leaving behind memories that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew her.

The crash also seriously injured Mathew Witham, 58, of Guttenberg, Iowa, whose motorcycle lost control while attempting to avoid the collision. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the occupants of the third motorcycle escaped without injuries.

As the investigation continues, Kelley’s passing serves as a painful reminder of how unexpectedly life can change. Behind every tragic headline is a human life, a story, and a world of memories that cannot be replaced.

Rest in peace, Kelley Knockel. 🕊️💔 May your memory remain a lasting light in the lives of those who loved you. Though your journey ended far too soon, may you never be forgotten, and may your loved ones find strength and comfort amid this heartbreaking loss.
