AC Milan are closing in on another attacking addition, with Omari Hutchinson set to leave Nottingham Forest and move to Italy.
The two clubs have reached a verbal agreement over an initial loan deal for the 22-year-old winger. Milan are now working on the final steps, including arranging Hutchinson’s medical before completing the move.
The deal is expected to include an option to buy, with the clause potentially becoming an obligation if certain conditions are met. Sky Sport Italia reports that the agreement is structured as a paid loan with a right to purchase.
Hutchinson’s move comes after Milan lost Rafael Leão to Galatasaray and began looking for additional attacking options. The Rossoneri had already made contact with Forest and the player’s representatives over the possibility of a transfer.
The winger was notably left out of Nottingham Forest’s squad for their Premier League meeting with Liverpool on Saturday. His absence added to speculation over his future as negotiations with Milan progressed.
Hutchinson joined Forest from Ipswich Town last summer for a reported £37.5 million, becoming the club’s record signing at the time. His first season at the City Ground produced 41 appearances, one goal and eight assists across competitions.
The left-footed attacker is capable of playing on either wing or in a more central attacking role. His pace, dribbling and ability to create chances make him an attractive option for Milan as they look to strengthen their attack.
Hutchinson also has experience in the Premier League after coming through the youth systems at Arsenal and Chelsea before establishing himself at Ipswich and later Forest.
Milan are now pushing to complete the remaining formalities. Once the medical is completed and the paperwork is signed, Hutchinson will begin a new chapter in Serie A.
For Forest, his departure would bring an end to a short spell at the City Ground. For Milan, the move gives them another young attacking option as the club reshapes its squad.
The transfer is now at an advanced stage, with the medical and final paperwork expected to follow the verbal agreement.
