🚨 Andre Pronovost, a four-time Stanley Cup champion with the Montreal Canadiens, has died at the age of 90.
Pronovost was an important member of the Canadiens during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. He won the Stanley Cup in each of his first four NHL seasons, from 1956-57 through 1959-60.
During his NHL career, Pronovost recorded 198 points, including 94 goals and 104 assists, across 557 games. He also played for the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota North Stars.
Beyond his own career, Pronovost remained connected to professional hockey through his family. He was the grandfather of current New Jersey Devils forward Anthony Mantha.
The hockey world is mourning the loss of a player who was part of one of the NHL’s most dominant championship teams of the 1950s. Tributes are expected to continue as fans and former teammates remember his contribution to the Canadiens’ historic run.
