DRIVER RESCUED AFTER VEHICLE ENTERS BROOK ON MONTVILLE ROAD
MONTVILLE, Connecticut. Emergency crews responded at 5:48 a.m. after a vehicle entered a brook near 84 Montville Road, leaving the driver trapped inside.
The East Great Plain Fire Department and Norwich’s Squad A were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, Car 5 reported that the vehicle’s operator was trapped and required assistance.
Firefighters began stabilizing the vehicle by attaching a grip hoist to its front. Crews then used E-Draulic rescue tools to remove the driver’s door and gain access to the trapped occupant.
Rescuers subsequently removed the patient using a ground ladder. The Montville and Mohegan fire departments also assisted at the scene because the incident occurred near the town line.
American Ambulance transported one patient to the hospital for further medical care. Officials did not provide additional information about the patient’s condition or the circumstances leading to the crash.
The coordinated response involved multiple emergency services working together to reach the trapped driver and complete the rescue.
