With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we remember Douglas Molina Martinez, 56, of San Angelo, Texas, whose life was tragically lost following a three-vehicle crash Monday morning.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 87 and FM 2105 in Tom Green County.

A preliminary investigation found that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on U.S. 87 while a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck was in the highway turnaround at FM 2105.

DPS said the pickup driver, 62-year-old William Dugan Obryant of Carlsbad, did not see the motorcycle and failed to yield the right of way. The pickup entered the intersection and struck the motorcycle.

The pickup then struck a Chevrolet Trax driven by 75-year-old Gene Edwards Perry of San Angelo. Perry was waiting in the turn lane on FM 2105 to enter U.S. 87.

Martinez, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Stacye Speck. He was later taken to Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Obryant and Perry were both transported to Shannon Medical Center with minor injuries. Authorities said Martinez was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash with assistance from the San Angelo Fire Department, Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, and Texas Department of Transportation.

Douglas Molina Martinez's death leaves family, friends, and loved ones mourning a life lost suddenly on a West Texas roadway.
