Some moments in life arrive without warning and leave behind a silence words struggle to fill. On Saturday, September 19, 2026, Danny Breaux Jr., 51, of Lumberton, Mississippi, lost his life in a crash on Interstate 59 in Pearl River County.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 1 p.m. when Breaux was driving a 2019 GMC Sierra northbound on I-59.
For reasons still under investigation, the GMC Sierra left the roadway and collided with a tree. Breaux suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His 26-year-old son, Danny Breaux III, of Purvis, was riding as a passenger. He was injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released further information about his condition.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
