The Arab League secretary general has strongly condemned Israeli attacks on Gaza and accused them of attempting to sabotage the ceasefire agreement in a statement on Monday.
Nabil Fahmy said the Israeli bombardment of Gaza and the ongoing attacks in the occupied West Bank reflected “a clear Israeli attempt to sabotage the roadmap” announced on Friday to secure an Israeli withdrawal from the enclave as part of the second stage of the ceasefire.
“The secretary-general of the League stressed the need to hold Israel fully responsible for its violations against the Palestinians and its blatant attempts to thwart mediation efforts, emphasising that Israel should not be allowed to achieve its goals of extending and expanding the occupation in Gaza in implementation of clear and exposed internal agendas adopted by the occupation leaders and their symbols,” he added.
