“EA Sports FC” has set World Cup recordbreaker Kylian Mbappé as its cover athlete for the “FC 27” Ultimate Edition, as well as the mobile version of the game created by Electronic Arts.
Mbappé last appeared in the franchise four years ago. Since then, the world renowned French soccer player moved to Real Madrid in 2024 and, during the most recent FIFA World Cup tournament, beat Lionel Messi’s all-time record after scoring his 22nd goal on Sunday.
“To be featured on the cover of an ‘EA Sports FC’ title for the first time is a very special moment for me,” Mbappé said in a statement. “It’s an honor to continue my long-term relationship with the franchise in its latest chapter, alongside the players who have shaped its history. I can’t wait for everyone to experience ‘FC 27.'”
Jeff Sharma, EA Sports FC”s VP of franchise strategy and marketing, added in his own statement: “We’re thrilled to welcome Kylian back to the franchise as the cover star of ‘EA Sports FC 27.’ Kylian’s achievements for both club and country have established him as one of the defining players of his generation. He embodies the ambition, creativity and global appeal that defines ‘EA Sports FC’ today.'”

Xbox launched Xbox Backward Compatibility on PC in early release, with four original games available for the first time on PC and handhelds.
This update makes it easier to play classic Xbox games across PC and handhelds.
The four games now playable are: “BLiNX: The Time Sweeper,” “Conker: Live and Reloaded,” “Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge” and “Fuzion Frenzy.”
On PC, players can now experience customizable language settings, customizable graphics settings including up to 4x resolution upscaling, Vsync support, fullscreen and windowed display modes, anisotropic filtering and enhanced anti-aliasing.

“The Sims 4” announced new summer updates with the Coach RePurposed Capsule and Music Den Kit.
Through the capsule, Sims can refresh their wardrobes with upcycled fashion pieces inspired by the Coach (Re)Loved line. The Coach collaboration will be available for free download through “The Sims 4” Marketplace on July 28 through Oct. 28.
The Music Den Kit offers new decor, soundproofing panels and music-inspired furnishings. The kit is available starting July 23 for $4.99.
For a limited time, purchase of the Music Den Kit will come with 200 Moola, in-game currency that can be used to purchase Maker Packs and Kits through the Marketplace.

Aesir Interactive released open-world survival game “EverRail,” out now in Early Access.
Players embark on a dangerous journey across the frozen Exomoon Inara in the studio’s open-world survival crafting adventure. Aboard humanity’s last refuge, a battery-powered train, they must gather resources and venture out to uncover supplies before the cold drains the train’s power.
“EverRail”s Early Access release offers first-person or third-person gameplay, expanded survival systems, new combat options, exploration content and quality-of-life improvements. Players can brave the winter alone or with up to four players in co-op.
“EverRail” is available now in Early Access on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store for $14.99, with a 10% launch discount available for the first two weeks.
The Supporter Edition ($19.99) includes the base game, a second train, a second glider and an exclusive supporter train and glider skin. A Bullet Train & Glider Pack is available separately for $2.99 and adds the second train and second glider for players who already own the base game.
EVENTS
Fortnite streamer Cody “Clix” Conrod will host the Fore Wishes Event, the inaugural charity golf event with Make-A-Wish and Good Good Golf, and will launch a $10,000 Fortnite tournament.
Also serving as team captain for the Fore Wishes Event, Clix will compete against Good Good Golf’s Garrett Clark on Wednesday. The four-hour event will feature donations, polls and live challenges to fund wishes for children with critical illnesses. Additional streamers will also be joining the livestream to support the Make-A-Wish mission.
Clix’s cross-regional Fortnite tournament is the first tournament on the Clix Pro League End Game map, the streamer’s platform with Bloom Games. Featuring a competitive ranking system and Discord integration, the competitive Fortnite platform simulates realistic FNCS endgames.
The tournament will have Qualifiers and Finals for both North American and EU players, and it consists of 10 total rounds. The top 25 players from each region will advance to their respective finals.
